Multiple Teams · KHS Boys Basketball Gives Back @ Children’s Hospital

On Friday afternoon (October 14), the boys basketball team and the coaching staff volunteered their time and set out on a mission to make a visit to McClain Children’s Hospital in Temple, TX – a visit filled with positivity and enthusiasm.

The team arrived at the hospital to a rousing cheer from medical center staff members, patients and their families. The basketball team and coaching staff split up into groups for guided tours to visit with patients and their families in different sections of the hospital.  Our players were very excited about the visit.  Coach Huggins admitted that “it was great just watching them interact with the children who are there overcoming some incredible obstacles.”

There is nothing more important than taking the time to share a smile with somebody and making a positive impact on their life.  Coming to McClain Children’s Hospital and having this type of visit, puts things in perspective for the players and coaches in our upcoming season.

The young men volunteered their time and their smiles. Along with Kanga and the coaches, the young men went room to room saying hello and spending time with the young patients. “We love to give back to the community in any way we can,” said KHS Head Basketball Coach Reggie Huggins. “These kids we saw today are fighters and we just want to support them in anyway we can.”
