Tre Nichols is somewhere he never expected, but there is nowhere he would rather be.
For the previous three seasons, the former Killeen standout cemented himself as one of the Western Australian State Basketball League’s elite talents. An all-star in each of his campaigns and the league’s leading scorer in 2016, Nichols was in an ideal situation.
But things change.
Despite receiving most valuable player consideration following another impressive season, an unexpected opportunity arose to sign with the Saudi Premier League, and Nichols could not pass it up.
“This is the top league in Saudi Arabia,” he said, “and it is a couple notches up from the Australian league, so I’m looking forward to it.
